Demi & Ryan's Steak Dinner

Servings: 2

Prep Time: 3-5 minutes

Cook Time: 12-25 minutes (depending on how you like it cooked)

Total Time: 15-30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • The BETZ Steak Seasoning (Demi or Ryan's - take your pick:) )

  • Your favorite cut of beef - ribeyes or filets are our personal favorites!

    • Figure around 8-10 oz per person

  • 2 TBSP Margarine (about 1 TBSP per serving)

    • Optional - this helps to give added flavor and hold the seasoning on the steak, but it can be left off if you're looking for a healthier option.

Directions:

  1. Heat grill to 450 degrees F.

  2. Melt the margarine in microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds.

  3. Brush the margarine over the steak.

  4. Season with the BETZ steak seasoning - we like a bold flavor so we generally cover the entire steak with seasoning if it's thicker than an inch (i.e. filet). For those who like a more subtle flavor, stick to sprinkling lightly on the top.

  5. Place on grill. Directions from here will vary depending on how you like your steak cooked. We prefer medium rare to medium - so cook longer if you like it more well done and shorter if you like it moo-ing :)

  6. Let it cook on 1 side for 3-4 minutes, then flip and do the same side for another 3-4 minutes.

  7. If your grill has a searing feature, sear each side for an additional 1-2 minutes. If not, let cook on each side for an additional 2-3 minutes to help hold the flavor.

  8. Enjoy!

Recommended Side Dishes:

  • Loaded Mashed Potatoes

    • NOTE: Start these before the steaks because they take a bit longer and no one likes cold food.

    • We love good old-fashioned homemade mashed potatoes, but let's be honest - there's not always enough time for this AND as a young couple, we don't even have a hand mixer if we're being totally truthful LOL. So we're big fans of the pre packaged Bob Evans mashed potatoes. However, instead of making them in the microwave, we scoop them out into a glass baking dish and stir in shredded cheese and bacon bits. Pop this in the oven for about 20 minutes on 350 degrees F. We also like to pull them out a few minutes before and top with a layer of shredded cheese and bacon bits and then put it in the oven for a bit longer - can never have enough, right?

  • Side Salad

    • Our favorite salads include:

      • Romaine lettuce

      • Diced tomatoes

      • Shredded cheddar cheese

      • Croutons

      • Ranch dressing (and lots of it LOL)
